TREATMENT OF JOINT PAIN IN HORSES AND PONIES
HYAFLEX acts against joint pain and stiffness resulting from degenerative or post-traumatic knee osteoarthritis, as a replacement for or together with a traditional non-pharmacological therapy or analgesic therapy.
HYAFLEX is recommended for horses and ponies, particularly during periods involving competitions and/or dressage.
Properties
All of the synovial joints, notably the weight-bearing joints that support the weight of the body, contain viscoelastic hyaluronic acid. This substance has lubricating properties and properties that offer protection against shocks. Reduction of stress on the cartilage allows it to regenerate and consequently slows the progression of the osteoarthritis.
The hyaluronic acid (molecular mass 650 ~ 1200 kDa) contained in HYAFLEX is a natural polysaccharide derived from microorganisms (Streptococcus zooepidemicus), and then purified.
HYAFLEX is injected into the articular cavity to restore synovial fluid.
